Passwordless Login Error

Shifter was unable to connect to WordPress via the JSON REST API (WP-API).

Cause:

  • The JSON REST API (WP-API) is disabled.
  • A theme or plugin is blocking this API connection.

Solution:

  1. Enable the JSON REST API.
  2. Update your theme or plugin to allow Shifter to connect via this API.

Note:

  • Passwordless login and the generator are only available if Shifter can connect to your site via this JSON REST API (WP-API).
  • Please log in to the login page using your WordPress username and password, or log in as an emergency user to enable this JSON REST API (WP-API).
