Sample Domain and DNS Records

  • Sample domain: example.com, www.example.com

  • Sample Shifter domains: abc123.on.getshifter.io., def456.cloudfront.net.

  • Sample validation records:

    • For example.com:
      • Name: _abcde.example.com
      • Type: CNAME
      • Value: _01234.acm-validations.aws.
    • For www.example.com:
      • Name: _hijkl.www.example.com
      • Type: CNAME
      • Value: _56789.acm-validations.aws.

Configuring DNS Validation Records

  1. Go to the login page: https://www.name.com/account/login.php

  2. Click [MY DOMAINS]

  3. Click [Manage DNS Records] under the [Quick Links] drop-down menu Enter the validation record for

  4. Enter the validation record for example.com. TYPE: CNAME HOST: _abcd. ANSWER: _01234.acm-validations.aws TTL: 300 (default) Click the [Add Record] button to save the values.

  5. Enter the validation record for www.example.com. TYPE: CNAME HOST: _hijkl.www. ANSWER: _56789.acm-validations.aws. TTL: 300 (default) Click the [Add Record] button to save the values.

  6. Verify the added validation record.

After domain verification is complete, configure the DNS records.

  1. Click [ADD NEW RECORD] to add an ALIAS record ALIAS record for example.com TYPE: ANAMEHOST: Leave blankANSWER: def456.cloudfront.net.TTL: 300 (default) Click the [Add Record] button to save the values.

  2. Also, enter the CNAME record for www.example.com TYPE: CNAMEHOST: www.ANSWER: abc123.on.getshifter.io. or def456.cloudfront.net.TTL: 300 (default) Click the [Add Record] button to save the values.

  3. Review all records
