Swapping the Primary and Alternate Domain Names

In the “Manage Domains” section of the Domains menu, the primary domain name appears in the “Domain” field, and the secondary domain name appears in the “Alternate Domain” field. In this example, the primary domain name is example.com, and the secondary domain name is www.example.com. Additionally, the URL displayed on the Overview page is the primary domain name. You can swap the primary and secondary domain names in the “Change Attached Domain” section.

Steps to Swap the Primary and Alternate Domain Names

Steps:

1. Click the drop-down menu located under “[Change Attached Domains].”
2. Select the alternate domain.
3. Click the [Update] button to save your changes, and copy the record name if needed.

   Example:

   Record Name: example.com Record Type: CNAME Record Value: abc1234edf.on.getshifter.io

4. Return to the Overview page and verify that the URL has been updated.
5. Click [Generate] to generate the artifact that applies the changes.
6. Access the new primary domain name to verify the changes.
