At this year’s WordCamp Europe, we are welcoming bringing back not one but two, panel discussion sessions. The first session is set to discuss onboarding, user experience, and retention and another focused on the future of Gutenberg.
We’re excited for the return of the panel discussion format and think both are going to provide great insight for attendees. We’re most interested in the Gutenberg panel since we have a few questions to share on that topic as well.
A lot of our team is curious about the future of Gutenberg as it related to plugin development within the WordPress Dashboard. As developers, power users, and admins use WordPress for editing posts, how do we bring that new experience and Gutenberg UI to other areas within the Dashboard.
Some examples could be installing a plugin using the upload zip file method. That process currently uses the default browser native upload form element but what if it were updated to use the drag-and-drop UI that Gutenberg offers?
We believe the visual language that Gutenberg created started as a block editor goes well beyond posts and pages. It could become the default recommended way for creating admin pages.
